Both get rid of the ads. They are not remotely the same product, and for a lot of people the cheap one really is the right answer.

If you watch YouTube at your Mac, in Safari, and you just want the ads to stop — Adios does that for $4.99, once. If you watch on a phone, a TV, or in another browser, or you want downloads and background play, you want Premium. Adios can't touch any of that.

When Premium is the better buy
Genuinely often. Pick Premium if:
- You watch on a phone, tablet, TV or console. Adios reaches none of those.
- You want audio to keep playing with the screen off, or downloads for a flight.
- You'd use YouTube Music — that alone costs about what Spotify does.
- You want the channels you watch to get paid for your views. This one has no cheap substitute, and it's a fair argument.
When Adios is
- Your YouTube watching is mostly a Mac at a desk — tutorials, talks, music in a background tab.
- $13.99 a month for one of five features you'd use feels absurd.
- You'd rather not hang another subscription off your Google account.
- You want nothing collected about you. No account means nothing to collect.
- You watch a handful a day, in which case 30 videos a month free may already cover it.

No point. Premium already serves you no ads, so Adios would have nothing to remove. If you pay for Premium, skip this.
The bit nobody wants to say
Removing ads means the creators you watch earn less from you. That's true of every ad blocker, this one included.
If a channel matters to you, Premium, channel memberships, Patreon and merch all get money to them in a way that ad-free watching doesn't. Adios exists because YouTube's ad load has become genuinely hostile, not because I think creators shouldn't get paid.
